Terms and Conditions for Nesfield Cottage B+B
Thank you for choosing to book Nesfield Cottage. We look forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering an agreement with us. Please read our Terms and Conditions of booking below.
DepositFor all bookings we require a deposit of £20 per night to confirm the booking. We will charge this to your debit/credit card then send you an e-mail or letter confirming the booking and letting you know what the outstanding balance is. The balance is due on departure.
Prices
The price includes accommodation plus any board indicated. Unless clearly stated on the booking confirmation, all extras such as additional meals, telephone, etc. are extra. We accept the following forms of payment: Cash, cheque with bankers’ card, debit cards, credit cards.
Pets
For the comfort of our other guests, we do not accept pets in the house. However, you are welcome to bring your well-behaved pet if you are happy to keep it overnight in your car but this must be by prior arrangement and on condition that you will clean up after it.
Cancellation
Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. For cancellations made up to 4 days before your booking you will not be liable for the total balance. For cancellations made after this time or by failing to take up the booking without cancelling you will be liable for the total amount. For this reason, you may wish to take out cancellation insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker.
Non-availability
We would only reluctantly cancel your booking if the accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would attempt to offer you alternative accommodation; however, if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Arrival
Your accommodation is available to you from 4.00pm on the day of arrival unless otherwise arranged. Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 10.00pm.
Departure
Please be ready to leave your accommodation by 10.00am on the day of departure, unless otherwise arranged. Your bill for the accommodation and any extras is payable on departure.
Damages and Breakages
Please take care with our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant and we may make an additional charge of £10 if you did not report this.
Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Data
Any data gathered during the course of this booking will be held securely and under no circumstances will it be passed on to a third party.

Accessibility Statement
Our aim is to make our accommodation as accessible as possible for all guests and with this in mind we welcome enquiries from those with disabilities and would do our best to accommodate them.
Information for guests
- A fire risk assessment has been carried out and necessary requirements complied with. This includes smoke alarms in all rooms, emergency lighting and automatic fire door closers.
- Emergency information can be provided in large print or described verbally.
- There is wheelchair access to the house and the path has a handrail at the side.
- There is a ground floor double/twin room (Room 1 Robin) for those who have difficulty with stairs. Access to the en-suite is level and the shower tray height is approx. 22cm.
- There are no steps on the ground floor.
- Further bedrooms are on the first floor. ( Skylark and Lapwing ) These are accessed by a flight of 13 stairs.
- All en-suites have chairs or a bench to aid dressing/undressing.
- Local taxi information is provided.
- There is a bus service from the end of the lane ( approx.100 metres) which takes you out into the Peak District or into Chesterfield.
- Local bus/train timetables are available.
- We offer a pick-up service from the local bus/train stations. ( Chesterfield or Dronfield )
- Help carrying luggage/manoeuvring wheelchairs is offered.
- There is a surfaced private car park solely for guests to use at the side of the property with room for three cars.
- Rooms have remote control freeview TV with ceefax/teletext.
- All rooms have hospitality trays.
- All rooms have raised plug sockets to make them easily accessible.
- There is a guest fridge in the dining room for any medication/special dietary items.
- We can cater for special diets by prior arrangement. (eg gluten free ) Please ask when booking.
- Guest information and menus can be provided in large print or described verbally.
- Guests with allergies to fur/feathers might like to know that we don’t allow pets in the house.
- We are gradually replacing our pillows with anti-allergy ones.
- Those with a nut allergy should be aware that we use sunflower seeds in home-made bread and occasionally Nutella on pancakes.

Environmental Policy
We are committed to doing all we can to minimise our carbon footprint. In order to achieve this we have the following policies:
- Green waste is composted and used to grow our own flowers and vegetables.
- Rainwater is harvested for garden use.
- We re-cycle cardboard, paper, cans, plastic bottles, glass, plastic bags, clothes and shoes at our local depot when we go shopping.
- We try to buy re-cycled products and use re-cycled, re-filled printer cartridges.
- We have a green towels policy which is detailed in the guest information pack along with other suggestions for guests to consider.
- All our toilets are modern low water usage ( max. 6L per flush ) and have a low flush option.
- Taps in the en-suites have a thermostat for safety and economy.
- Thermostatic radiator valves are fitted in all rooms including en-suites.
- The house is fully double-glazed and insulated to reduce heat loss.
- We use low energy lamps where we can.
- Kettles have water gauges so that only the amount needed is boiled.
- Our electrical appliances are A rated where possible.
- We use local suppliers to source produce where we can (to reduce transport and associated emissions) and to support the local economy.
- We actively encourage wildlife by feeding and by maintaining habitat.
- We support conservation work through the RSPB by selling pin badges and by providing identification guides for guests to use.
- We promote walking and cycling breaks and encourage guests to use their cars less frequently.
